How to get the Perfect Elk Pelt for the Legend of the East Satchel in Arthur's story in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Location: The best place I know of to find elk is up at the hotsprings
Longscope Rifle (I think?)
I will update this when I am certain, writing from memory, but I think the longscope rifle like the Carnaco is the best for elk. I also think you can rope them, but will double check on that and update this soon.
