I spent last night and this morning rebuilding the armored truck I was making. I am aiming for the end model being something that I can use in short filmmaking tests, so I have been building it with the end goal of having an engine and full underside, in case I decide my future film project needs it flipped onto its side or something.
At the moment I have the body, cassis, engine compartment, basic box interior, placeholder tires, and all doors: driver and passenger, side door, and double doors on the back. When I am finished the doors will all open at the hinge points. The nose will also tip forward to allow access to the engine if I ever add one.
The whole thing at this point is an ugly mess, with little attention paid to vertices, ngons, and even which way the normals point. I won't worry about all that stuff until I have finalized the design of the truck, but I am liking it so far.
The biggest headache so far was the front end, trying to match the size of the engine compartment to the necessary clearance for the front tires to turn.
shown with the truck in the below images is a medium build male metahuman used to scale comparison.
